Converting to LED Lighting Upgrades

by Cooper Clark on Jun 07, 2016

Converting to LED lighting upgrades is a great experience. In fact, converting to LED lighting may benefit you more than you may initially know. Light Emitting Diodes (LED's) do not emit harmful UV rays. Which is better for your overall health. You can even find a lighting designer to help you get started. You can get great experienced help with any lighting services you may need.

LED lights actually emit less heat than CFL's, saving you cooling costs. LED lights emit energy up to 50,000 hours compared to incandescent lighting which only burns for 1,200 hours. The low heat output is a great benefit of using LED's. Incandescent lights use 40 watts, whereas the LED's use 4-5 watts. Also, saving you costs on replacing bulbs. They do not need to be replaced as often as CFL's,  changing only every few years or so. Unlike traditional lights LED's do not "burn out", they simply begin to dim over time. LED lighting upgrade costs are lowered yearly, and the lack of replacing product as often, makes the payback period in the range of just a few years. Another great fact is LED lights are eco-friendly, minimizing toxic waste.

Many beneficial factors take place switching from compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs to LED lights, such as the fact that LED's are safer for the environment. Unlike other lighting systems, LED's do not carry mercury making them environmentally friendly. Having no toxic materials, LED lights are 100% recyclable and reduce your carbon footprint. LED bulbs are durable and can withstand extreme weather changes, as well as vibration. Made from a thick epoxy and not from glass, which can shatter, making them a safer choice in emergency situations.

LED's emit light 75% longer than incandescent lighting and 50% longer than CFL's. Also using very little energy.

LED lights are cool to the touch and are easier to manipulate than other light sources. They were designed to emit light in specific directions and come in many colors. This allows you to control the direction of light and shadow in any environment, depending on what the space may be used for.
