Emergency Exit Lights Become a Sizzling Hot Topic for Industries Nationwide

by Cooper Clark on Sep 27, 2016

In June 2016, a riveting PBS Newshour feature helped make emergency exit lights a hot topic nationwide. The news giant used the Orlando tragedy as a jumping off point to spark the conversation. Included in the discussion was the importance of lighting during a variety of disaster settings. You can read in its entirety what writer, Corrine Segal, had to say about the topic. Our emergency lighting experts are sure that you’ll find the discussion as intriguing as they did.

While the industry and government officials hash out how our country should move forward, we can’t help but point out how emergency exit lighting may be beneficial now more than ever. Of course in order for those benefits to be fully realized, emergency exit lights must be set-up properly from the start. Bearing that in mind, we’re available to go over the pros and cons of both central battery and single point systems, as well as provide electrical contracting services.

There’s also the pressing matter of semi-annual maintenance visits. When our emergency exit light team of experts are involved, more than just battery life issues are addressed. For instance, our seasoned technicians also consider issues including, but not limited to, environmentally responsible retrofits, approved illumination levels and various emergency lighting trends. They can help determine if a space is better suited for photoluminescent panels, light-emitting diodes or other forms of emergency exit lighting.

In addition, they are intimately familiar with OSHA, NFPA and some area specific codes as well. As such, it’s worth calling for an inspection of emergency exit lights before purchasing public buildings.
