Summers approach means an overwhelming increase in outdoor events. From outdoor concerts, street fairs, state fairs, sporting activities and crowded beach parking lots, crowds need to know how to safely exit an area in the event of an emergency. In addition, many restaurants and other entertainment venues may look to extend operations to patios or other areas. The use of the outdoors is something to look forward to, but the officials, organizations and businesses hosting outdoor recreation must comply with safety codes and regulations.

Outdoor Lighting Codes and Regulations

Outdoor lighting regulations vary by city but the most frequently cited are issues with glare, height of light poles/fixtures and event lighting time restrictions. In addition, emergency exit lights have their own standards and requirements, most notably they must have their own power source.

When considering the amount of detail that must be taken when devising a safe and legal lighting plan, it makes sense to turn to lighting professionals for consultation, installation and inspection.

Inspectors ensure that your lights are well-maintained, up to code and ready to be installed after spending months in storage. Electrical consultants assess your area to determine if your desired lighting can be supported by your existing electrical infrastructure. Electricians install fixtures that fall within code regulations. They install and maintain your lighting systems with the proper equipment.

When it comes to the safety of your event, guests, and your business patrons, please consider contacting us for information about installation, trouble-shooting and service.
