Emergency Exit Lights - More Than The Law

by Cooper Clark on Aug 09, 2016

Every business owner knows that the law requires them to have well-lit emergency exits with particular emergency exit lights to identify them. So of course we comply in order to pass our fire inspections and keep from being cited.

Lighting Services Incorporated would like you to take a moment to understand the reasoning behind these requirements.  In their 81 years of business, Lighting Services Incorporated has seen every type of emergency possible. When a company is experiencing an emergency such as a fire, gas leak, or toxic spill, nothing is more important than allowing employees and associates clear passage from the building. When a building fills with smoke or fumes, people become disoriented. They become confused and panicked. Often it is necessary to get low on the floor to obtain oxygen while exiting. During an emergency, emergency exit lights are life or death.  This is when you realize why proper lighting is necessary. This is when you realize why it is critical that your emergency lighting works even in a power failure. A little planning can save lives.

The expense of having quality emergency exit lighting is affordable. The peace of mind one experiences from being protected is priceless. Lighting Services Incorporated would like to encourage you to allow a qualified technician to inspect the emergency lighting in your facility. Be sure your employees and associates are safe and your emergency plans are adequate.

Of course you are responsible and follow the law, and to understand the reasoning behind the laws and take necessary action today. Lives may depend upon it.
